Recent advances in Nano-biomedicine, South Korea

KVA (Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences) has a bilateral exchange program with KAST (Korean Academy of Science and Technology), organizing symposia alternating between Sweden and South Korea. The coming symposium, "Recent advances in Nano-biomedicine", will be in Seoul 21–22 november 2011. The Center will be represented in the Swedish delegation by Professor Agneta Richter-Dahlfors and Associate professor Andreas Nyström.

Visit by Lennart Nilsson Award winner Nancy Kedersha

The annual Lennart Nilsson Award is the world´s most distinguished award in the field of scientific and medical photography, and is presented annually in honour of the legendary Swedish photographer. This year's awardee, Nancy Kedersha, will visit the center Monday Nov 7th and give a seminar in Hillarp Hall, Retzius väg 8, at 13.30. After the seminar there will be a chance to meet and discuss with her.

Visit by French MP:s

Two members from the French parliament, Mr. Claude Birraux and Mr. Jean-Yves Le Déaut, will visit the Center Thursday 6th of October. They ar in Stockholm for a study about "Innovation, as confronted to fears and risks". They are part of the OPECST, the French Parliamentary Office of the Evaluation of Scientific and Technological Choices.

Swedish-Italian Workshop on Nanoscience and Medical Technology

Agneta Richter-Dahlfors, director at the Swedish Medical Nanoscience Center is invited speaker at this workshop that focuses on the importance of collaboration between universities, research institutes and companies in view of coming EU-program F7 calls and other funding opportunities. Biomedical companies from Italy and Sweden will contribute with their perspective on this and also talk about the relevance of nanotechnology in future health care solutions. Read more
