Innovations in cancer theraphy - nanomedicine, 1.5 credits  (course no 2355)

The content of this course comprises several aspects of nanotechnology in cancertherapy. General concepts and definitions of nanomedicine will be discussed as well as applications of nanomedicine in oncology. There will also be focus on construction and use of nanoscale drug delivery systems and applications of nanomaterials in in vivo/in vitro imaging. Another aspect will be design of nanomaterials for injection and methods of tuning biodistribution and active/passive targeting as well as toxicology.

Nanomedicine - Summer Research School, 1.5 credits (course no 2706)

The Swedish Medical Nanoscience Center at Karolinska Institutet is organizing a joint Summer Research School for graduate students together with highly ranked institutions in Japan and China. The purpose is to provide a global course program in Nanomedicine, and to promote research and interactions among young PhD candidates. This year’s course is focused on applying nanomedicine to the areas of infection, inflammation, and immunology.

Medical Nanosciences, 1.5 credits  (course no 2429)

This course consists of two parts; a doctoral education retreat and a problem-based task. The retreat, to be held in november, will consist of lectures and seminars, as well as panel discussions between students and teachers. The accepted applicants will be provided with a problem-based task before the course start, together with suggestions about suitable litterature. The students will present their solutions to the task at the retreat as the examination. 
 
Students will be selected according to 1) the relevance of the course for their research training and 2) a written motivation
